What are Bookstart Treasure packs?
Bookstart is a programme run by BookTrust, a charity which is dedicated to encouraging people of all ages and cultures to engage with books. Their Bookstart Treasure pack is a gift for children aged three to four years old and contains a story book and a booklet full of tips for parents about sharing books together.
Who are they for?
The books in the February 2021 delivery are only for children at your setting who were born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017.
Younger children will get their packs in June 2021. Parents of older children who have missed out or eligible children who don't go to an early years setting, can order one from their local library. Parents may also be interested in our Read with me leaflets and How parents can help with reading web page.
2020/21 Bookstart Treasure packs is now open till the 18 December 2020. Deliveries will take place in February 2021 . The order form is now closed.
Thank you for helping us gift these envelopes to children and their families. The most important message to give to dads, mums and carers is that it's never too early to start reading to their children. Research has proven that children who are read to daily form close bonds with their parents/carers and reach education milestones quicker than children who are not.
