Resilience: Stories of Adult Learning

Resilience: Stories of Adult Learning is a free learner voice multimedia publication, available to access and download in multi-platform e-book, pdf and web versions. It is also available across e-book platforms such as Amazon Kindle, iBooks, Kobo, Barnes and Noble and Smashwords.

“This is a collection of learner stories, in their own words and with some helpful contributions by tutors along the way. It is a testimony to the resilience of human lives, the critical role of lifelong learning, and how adult literacies weave through our journeys, visibly and invisibly.”

The publication includes the story of Rubina Bhatti, who won “Adult Learner of the Year in the South-East” in 2014. Rubina’s amazing journey started with Surrey Adult Learning (SAL) when she joined a Family Learning Language course. She went on to do her GCSE English and Maths at East Surrey College. Having gained a Level 3 “Access to Social Work” qualification last year, she has now been accepted to a BSc Honours programme in Forensic Psychology with the Open University.

Rubina’s and the other learners’ stories are incredibly inspiring – do get a copy!
