Course overview

Course intent

Iyengar Yoga is a precise and careful style of yoga, paying strong attention to correct postural alignment and body awareness, so it’s an excellent starting point for those new to Yoga practice.

The intent of the course is to develop strength and flexibility using a range of refined and complex postures.

What will you learn?

The system of teaching Iyengar Yoga is methodical, structured and progressive, emphasising detailed correctness and safety. You will develop:

  • Your learning of breathing exercises (pranayama) and relaxation techniques.

You will be using equipment, such as blocks, or bolsters, to assist you to achieve the posture correctly, at your own pace and to suit your body.
