Course intent
This course will help you build the skills, knowledge, and confidence to better understand and support your child’s development, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing. You will gain practical strategies to support learning at home, strengthen your relationship with your child, and feel more confident engaging with your child’s education.
What will you learn?
Parent/carers will develop an understanding of the options available to their children, what it means when a course is given a level (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3) and how to access support both financial and otherwise. The workshop will dispel the myths around deadlines and application processes for both college and apprenticeships, so you have confidence to support your child to pursue these options.
Specifically you will
- Explore the options available to young people after they finish Y11.
- Learn about some of the myths around deadlines and applications and post-16 learning
- Understand the levels & duration of courses and apprenticeships
