Course intent

This practical, immersive cookery workshop explores how juices and smoothies can be used therapeutically to support energy, digestion, immunity, and stress—when done correctly. Learners will move beyond trends and detox myths, learning how to create balanced, nourishing blends that support health rather than spike blood sugar. The session is hands-on, educational, and designed to build confidence in using drinks as a functional nutrition tool.

What will I learn?

You will learn to:

Your tutor, Louise is a Registered Nutritional Therapist with a passion for incorporating nutrient-rich foods into everyday cooking

No prior cooking experience is needed — just a love of good food and an appetite for learning!

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Please ensure you have completed the following before the first session:

  • It is essential all learners click this link https://customer.surreycc.gov.uk/sal-cookery-checklist - complete and submit.
  • You will be emailed a workbook. It will outline the ingredients & resources you need to bring and those that will be supplied.
  • Inform adultlearning@surreycc.gov.uk if you need any adaptations to the recipes.

What can I do when I finish the course?

We offer a range of culinary workshops and courses throughout the term, look at our website for all the details. It would be great to see you again.

We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
