Drawing - Easy Perspective - Beginners

Course intent

A course for complete beginners where you will get a taste of the skills needed to draw using perspective. Enjoy the well-being benefits gained through working in a friendly, creative learning environment.

What will we cover?

The tutor will cover one & two point perspective in detail, breaking it down into easy to manage steps. He will also touch on three-point perspective, to give learners an idea of what it is, although this technique is rarely used in traditional artwork.

This very useful course will help any learner who may wish to create future drawings or paintings of, for example, buildings or landscapes with the effect of distance.

For courses of more than one session, you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

Designed for Complete Beginners and those wishing to understand perspective, the tutor teaches step-by-step. All learners will be able to view each stage of the perspective drawings before trying for themselves - this means all learners have the same chance of producing similar quality work within the lesson.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

• A pad of cartridge paper - Tutor uses 300gsm Watercolour paper in case he decides to add watercolour to his drawings at a later date - but a cartridge paper pad would be more affordable and absolutely fine for your perspective drawings.

  • A pencil and sharpener, or a mechanical pencil - Tutor mainly uses 0.5mm mechanical pencils with 2H leads (bought separately).
  • An eraser
  • 30cm ruler
  • What can I do when I finish the course?

In discussion with your tutor, you may like to progress onto further drawing courses with this tutor or use your skills in other painting and drawing classes such as the new course Watercolour Painting - Urban Sketching and landscapes - All Abilities
