What we are doing
We will be making adjustments to the access to the Millbrook car park in Guildford so that vehicles exiting the Millbrook car park can now turn right as well as left onto the A281 Millbrook.
The existing junction arrangement at Millbrook Car Park currently only allows traffic that exits the car park to turn left and enter the gyratory rather than turn right and travel southbound, putting additional pressure on town centre traffic. Currently, visitors who travel from the south of Guildford may also be discouraged from using the car park because of the difficulty in returning southbound after leaving.
The scheme will involve reconfiguring the junction to enable traffic to turn right when exiting the car park, therefore easing the pressure on the gyratory and making the car park more attractive to potential users.
15 January 2018 for approximately 12 weeks
Impact on traffic
Barriers and cones will be in place 24 hours as of 15 January.
Temporary traffic lights then will be put in place from 29 January. These will be in place between 8pm – 6am. The temporary traffic lights will be removed outside of these hours.
Please note that some work may require temporary traffic lights between 9.30am – 4pm
Temporary traffic lights will be in place for 24 hours during later phases of the scheme. However work will only be carried out between 7am - 6pm.
Please allow extra time for your journeys in case of delays.
