Coronavirus: how the outbreak is affecting our roadworks and maintenance
Surrey County Council is resuming its essential roadworks programme to help keep routes open and safe for key workers during the coronavirus restrictions. More information and updates can be found on our roadworks coronavirus page.
We will be constructing new soakaways and road drains to help alleviate the flooding on Oak Avenue, South Avenue, Park Avenue, Ayebridges Avenue in Egham.
We will be carrying this work out in four phases.
Phase one of the work will start on Monday 21 October at South Avenue for a duration of 6-8 weeks followed by Phase 2: Oak Avenue (2 weeks), Phase 3: Park Avenue (8-10 weeks) and Phase 4: Ayebridges Avenue (4-6 weeks). However, this is subject to change due to the nature of these works.
Advanced warning signs will be placed in your road prior to the works starting. We will know more details once the works have begun and how much progress is being made. Please talk to staff on site if you have any specific requirements.
How this will affect me?
These works will involve deep excavation and may prevent vehicle access to some properties.
The roads will be closed in small sections for 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. If you need to use your car whilst the works are taking place outside of your address, please park outside of our works area. If you have any special requirements please talk to a member of staff on site who will be able to assist you.
