Egham drainage and flooding improvement

Coronavirus: how the outbreak is affecting our roadworks and maintenance

Surrey County Council is changing its roadworks programme to help keep its workers and the public safe during the coronavirus restrictions. More information and updates can be found on our roadworks coronavirus page.

Update 29 November

Oak Avenue works will start on the 9 December. Please talk to a member of staff on site if you need any help.

17 October

Works will begin 21 October from 7:30 at South Avenue, Egham. The first Phase will begin at the drains located near to the properties numbered 65-67 and number 6. We will be moving along the road when each new soakaway/drain has been completed.

As the works involve deep excavation this will prevent vehicle access to and from your property whilst we are working directly outside of your house.

Please talk to a member of staff on site if you need any help - talking to our staff can solve most issues.

Scheme Overview:

We will be constructing new soakaways and road drains to help alleviate the flooding on Oak Avenue, South Avenue, Park Avenue, Ayebridges Avenue in Egham.

We will be carrying this work out in four phases.

Phase one of the work will start on Monday 21 October at South Avenue for a duration of 6-8 weeks followed by Phase 2: Oak Avenue (2 weeks), Phase 3: Park Avenue (8-10 weeks) and Phase 4: Ayebridges Avenue (4-6 weeks). However, this is subject to change due to the nature of these works.

Advanced warning signs will be placed in your road prior to the works starting. We will know more details once the works have begun and how much progress is being made. Please talk to staff on site if you have any specific requirements.

How this will affect me?

These works will involve deep excavation and may prevent vehicle access to some properties.

The roads will be closed in small sections for 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. If you need to use your car whilst the works are taking place outside of your address, please park outside of our works area. If you have any special requirements please talk to a member of staff on site who will be able to assist you.
