Night-time road closures
The temporary barriers will be installed from Monday 4 February for two nights along the northbound and southbound sides of the road. One side of the road will be closed each night. The same will apply for two nights at the end of the scheme to allow us to remove the temporary barriers.
On Monday 4 February we will begin replacing the safety barrier along the central reservation of A243 dual carriageway between the two M25 junction 9 roundabouts.
These works are expected to take seven weeks to complete and include:
- Removing the old safety barrier which is at the end of its serviceable life
- Installing two temporary barriers which will remain in place until the new one is installed
- Installing a new permanent safety barrier which meets current standards.
24 hour lane closures
There will be one lane closed along the northbound carriageway and on the approaches to the M25 junction 9 roundabout at the southern end of the bypass.
The two lanes along the southbound carriageway will be narrowed but will remain open and there will be no lane closures on the approaches to the M25 junction 9 roundabout at the northern end of the bypass.
The lay-bys on each side of the road will be closed during these works for use as a site office and to store materials, equipment and recovery vehicles.
