Routine maintenance on high speed roads

We coordinate a programme of routine maintenance for high speed dual carriageway roads (roads where traffic generally travels at over 50mph). This includes working with our district and borough councils who are responsible for litter picking and sweeping.

We provide the opportunity for them to undertake grass cutting, strimming and weed spraying while we are carrying out drainage works and gully cleaning.

We perform this work on each road twice a year and we schedule several jobs in one day to minimise disruption. Work is carried out between 9.30am and 4pm unless stated otherwise.

In Epsom and Ewell and Woking, the district or borough council cuts the grass on our behalf, as there are no 50mph dual carriageways in these areas.

Grass on roads with a speed limit of under 50mph, such as residential roads, are maintained by your local borough or district council, except in Mole Valley and Tandridge where the highway grass is maintained by Surrey County Council. Further details can be found on our grass cutting page.
