Redhill town centre development project

Scheme overview

There are several large construction projects taking place in the centre of Redhill now and during the coming months. Previous works have included the installation of new water and gas main connections. There will also be improvements to Redhill station and sections of the main roads through the town centre. This will mean disruption in some parts of town for the coming months.

We are regularly meeting with the various private developers and utility companies managing the construction projects to minimise the disruption to traffic and local residents.

This scheme forms part of the Redhill Regeneration project. To view more information please see Reigate & Banstead Borough Council's Key Projects page.

Ongoing works

Lane closure – 20 March 2017 for approximately eight weeks

Location: Princess Way

As part of the Wider Redhill Sustainable Transport Package one of the improvement schemes includes widening the footway along Princess Way to provide improved facilities and linkage to adjacent routes for cyclists and pedestrians within Redhill town centre and directly to Redhill rail and bus station.

This scheme includes the demolition and reinstatement of the boundary wall to Princess House to enable the footway widening. Behind the existing wall is a small car park utilised by residents of the adjacent block and during the works we will need to close off some parking spaces.

Lane closure – Dates to be confirmed

Location: Princess Way in sections.

This is to allow carriageway resurfacing, lining works and the installation of new traffic signals. We currently expect these works to be carried out later this year. We will publish further dates on this web page closer to the time.

Please note: adverse weather conditions can delay works so we will ensure that the latest information is displayed both here and on our roadworks in my area page so that you are fully informed on how these works may affect you.
