Holly Lane and Court Road, Banstead Traffic calming scheme
A road safety outside schools site assessment, was completed with Surrey County Council (SCC) highway engineers, SCC Road Safety engineers, Surrey Police and representatives of the school. This was undertaken due to concerns raised by local residents, parents and teachers at St. Anne's Primary School regarding the safety of pedestrians walking to and from the school.
A report was subsequently produced outlining possible engineering measures that could be installed, to tackle the concerns raised and road safety problems that were identified during the assessment.
Funding has now been designated for the proposed installation which includes provision to improve the pedestrian crossing facilities alongside traffic calming in the vicinity of St. Anne's Catholic Primary School. This will support the existing 20mph speed limit on Holly Lane, Court Road, Bolters Lane and Garratts Lane.
Subject to the outcome of this consultation, we plan to implement the new pedestrian crossing facilities and traffic calming measures before the end of the current financial year (before end of March 2022).
