Appropriation of land at junction of Woking Road and Moorfield Road, Guildford

Notice of intention to appropriate open space land under section 122 (2A) of the Local Government Act 1972

Notice is given that Surrey County Council in exercise of its powers under section 122(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972 intends to appropriate a narrow strip of land on the western side of Woking Road A320 (approximately 1,400 square metres, at the junction with Moorfield Road, Guildford) from open space to highway purposes related to junction improvement works stemming from the Weyside Urban Village development.

A plan of the land proposed for appropriation, may be inspected online (see file below) or in person by appointment at the offices of the Countryside Access Team, Surrey County Council, Whitebeam Lodge, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford, GU4 7BQ between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm, please contact commons.villagegreens@surreycc.gov.uk to make an appointment.

Anyone wishing to respond to the proposed appropriation should do so in writing to the above postal address or email address, marked for the attention of Catherine Valiant on or before 11 October 2024.
