Woking parking review 2019
There are a number of stages involved in the review and these are explained below. This parking review is now complete and in operation.
The current stage is: Implementation
Introduction
We assessed on-street parking concerns across the borough. These are the concerns that have been brought to our attention largely by members of the public, the police, councillors and highway officers since the previous review took place. We have prepared a report of our findings and recommendations.
Committee authorisation
We presented this report of our findings and recommendations to the Woking Joint Committee at its meeting on the evening of 25 September 2019, where all recommendations were approved. You can read the report and the decisions taken by the members in full. It is Item 25/18 on the Woking Joint Committee agenda, minutes and decisions page of this meeting.
Advertisement and objections
The parking proposals that were approved by the Joint Woking Committee, have now been formally advertised by public notice. The consultation closed on Friday 14 February 2020.
All properties adjacent to roads where changes are proposed to be made were notified individually with either a letter or A5 card through the door.
The 28 days of formal advertising, allowed residents and interested groups to give their own opinion on what the council is proposing to do.
You can still view and download drawings of all the proposals at the bottom of this web page. These are presented in PDF format, and displayed by County Councillor division. Also available to read is a statement of reasons detailing each proposal and a copy of the legal notice.
Please note that any Woking town centre proposals will be displayed in the Goldsworth East and Horsell Village division.
Approval
All the feedback that was received during the formal advertising was collected together into a report. This report has been presented to the Joint Committee Chairman and the County Councillor for your area along with the Parking Team Manager to read. Taking the feedback submitted into account, together they have decided on the best way forward and made final recommendations on how to proceed at each location where changes were proposed.
These final recommendations are now presented in a 'consideration of objections' report, which is available to read below.
Implementation
Installing the agreed changes on the roads has now taken place.
A final Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) has been made and published. The changes made in the parking review are now all legally enforceable by Civil Enforcement Officers.
