Waverley parking review 2018
There are a number of stages involved in the review, these are shown below.
The current stage is: Implementation
During September and October 2018 we assessed over 170 requests for new or amended parking restrictions in Waverley. These were brought to our attention largely by members of the public, the police, councillors and highway officers, since the previous review took place. After assessing the requests, and determining priorities for this review, proposals have been made for presentation at Waverley local committee.
All proposed parking restrictions were presented to Waverley Local Committee on 14 December 2018. The proposals were agreed with no changes.
Advertisement and objections
All of the proposed parking restrictions were advertised from 29 March to 26 April 2019. This included the publishing of a formal notice in the Surrey Advertiser; street notices being erected on site at each location; plus drawings and a statement of reasons being made available to view at each library across the borough, and also at Waverley Borough Council offices. Those properties immediately fronting locations where changes are proposed were notified individually by letter.
The Parking Team manager, in consultation with the chairman/ vice chairman of the local committee, and the county councillor of the area concerned have considered the feedback, both positive and negative, that we received during the formal advertisement and have made final decisions about which proposals will be implemented. A report summarising the objections, support and comments received, detailing the final decisions and the reasons for them, is available to download and view at the bottom of this page. Everybody who responded to the formal advert on a particular proposal will be written to, notifying them of the decision made prior to the implementation stage.
All signing work has been completed but we are still trying to complete lining work in some locations. All unfinished lining work will be completed as soon as possible.
