Surrey Heath 2018 parking review

There are a number of stages involved in the review, these are shown below. Due to the number of stages in the review, we are expecting to have completed this review towards the end of 2018.

The current stage is Advertisement and objections

During December 2017 and January 2018 we looked at parking problems across the borough. We had 145 locations to review. These had been brought to our attention largely by members of the public, the police, councillors and highway officers, since the previous review took place. We visited, assessed, and prioritised the requests for new or amended parking controls, and created a report of our findings and recommendations.

Committee authorisation

We presented the report of our findings and recommendations to Surrey County Council's Local Committee for Surrey Heath at its rearranged meeting on Thursday 12 April 2018. You can read a copy of the report and the committee's decision on the local committee pages on our website.

Advertisement and objections

We are now advertising all the agreed parking restrictions from 8 August to 12 September 2018.

At the bottom of this page you will be able to download and view copies of all the proposal plans by council division, along with a copy of the legal notice, committee report, and a statement of reasons detailing the restrictions.

If you wish to object, support or comment on any of our proposals, then please complete our online form.

Alternatively you can write to us at: Parking Team, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford GU4 7BQ

Once the advertising period ends, the parking team manager, in consultation with the chairman/ vice chairman of the local committee, and the county councillor of the area concerned, will consider all the objections, comments and letters of support. Decisions on how to proceed at each location are then made. An 'Objections Report' with all the decisions made is then published below, at the bottom of this web page. Everybody who contacted us with their views during the 'advertisement and objections' stage will be contacted individually with the outcome.

Implementation of this review will then follow.

Then we will make the final Traffic Regulation Order, with another notice in a local newspaper, which will make the new parking controls enforceable.
