Changes to parking enforcement due to the coronavirus
Because of coronavirus and the government's instruction to self-isolate and minimise travel, parking patterns changed and we adjusted our parking enforcement approach accordingly.
However, as the lockdown restrictions are eased, people are travelling more and many shops, which have been closed since March, are now preparing to reopen in June in accordance with the latest government guidelines. Therefore, we are now planning to resume normal parking enforcement practice during June to help support these businesses and their customers.
This means parking restrictions (including the time limits in parking bays) will be enforced normally from 15 June. Where parking charges were suspended and are due to be reinstated, warning signs will be put up advising of this change. Please note that there may also be changes to the layout of on street parking bays to accommodate social distancing.
