COVID Vaccinations in Surrey
Published: 13 May 2021
Why will you do it?
The COVID vaccination program in Surrey continues at pace. With residents over 40 now being asked to come forward for their vaccination. We've been out and about across Surrey visiting lots of the different vaccination sites, in surgeries, tents, mosques, community buses and even racecourses, to find out who's been having their vaccine and who they've done it for with the hashtag #ididitfor.
All across Surrey
It's been a mammoth task to make getting a COVID vaccine as accessible to everyone across Surrey as possible, with thanks to an army of Vaccine COVID volunteers. Every effort has been made to make sure it's as easy as possible for every Surrey resident to get their vaccine. Whether that's ramps for disabled access, installing hearing loops, access to translators or just someone to explain gently what happens next.
That's why Surrey has seen army tents, mosques, church halls, pharmacies, community buses and even racecourses opened up to make sure everyone can get their COVID Vaccine.
What does it mean for you?
It's important that everyone has the COVID vaccine as we head towards a life beyond the COVID pandemic. Different people have had different reasons for wanting to have it whether it's to protect the people they work with, to see friends and family that they've missed, to go on holiday or just to go to the pub with peace of mind. Watch the video below to see some of the people we met and the places we visited.
Tell us why?
Look out for the pop-up banners at selected vaccination sites – don't be shy take a selfie or just tell us with the hashtag #ididitfor why it's important to you to have had the COVID vaccination.
