Renew your library books 24/7

Published: 25 October 2017

Automated renewal service

Did you know you can renew your Surrey library book over the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, just by using an automated service?

All you have to do is call 0300 200 1001 at a time that’s convenient to you, have your borrower number from your library card ready and then follow the simple instructions.

Additionally, you can search, reserve and renew books online or by downloading the Surrey Libraries app from your app store. All you need is your borrower number and a PIN - which you can request online.

If they haven’t been requested by someone else, books can be renewed a maximum of five times before they need to be returned.

Changes to library membership categories

Additionally, there are changes to library membership categories with people aged over 70 moving into the standard adult membership. That means if you return your loans on time there is no change, however, you will incur overdue charges if you do not remember to keep your loans up to date. There is also a fee for reserving items.

But you may be eligible for the new ‘Open Ticket Adult’ membership category if your use of the library service is restricted by ill health, disability or mobility, or you need support to manage your library loans. To find out about the Open Ticket Adult membership, speak to staff on your next visit to the library, call 01483 543599 or email
