Climate change

Surrey's Greener Futures

Following the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, which is known as COP26, we're encouraging Surrey residents to play their part in tackling climate change.

Surrey County Council is working with Wildlife Aid and is encouraging people and communities to 'do one thing' (iDot) to reduce carbon in the way that they travel.

Small actions, big impact – how to get involved

If everyone takes some action to change their behaviours, the impact on reducing carbon emissions in Surrey will be significant.

The 'I do one thing' campaign (iDot) encourages people to make small changes that benefit the environment, and you can register your efforts on the iDot website. There is also a range of iDot activities and challenges for all ages to get involved in which can be downloaded directly from the website.

Greener Futures, bicycle lanes, Net Zero and hydrogen buses

Episode 4 of our podcast is out now. Recorded live from The Greener Travel Roadshow in Farnham, we find out exactly what Surrey are doing to get to Net Zero including some top tips on how we can all make a difference and discover when you can see hydrogen buses on our Surrey road. Head over to our podcast page to listen to the latest episode.
