Talent shows, cook-alongs and live chats ensure there's always something going on
Like so many events this year the Pride in Surrey celebrations planned for the 8 August have been cancelled. But the team at Pride in Surrey haven't let that stop them. They have been supporting the LGBTQI+ community with their /Not alone campaign, providing online activities everyday.
They also created a /NotAlone Chat Serve that has ensured that however alone people might feel during these times of lockdown, there is someone there to talk to. Follow Surrey Pride on Facebook for a full list of events but here's a taster:-
NOT Alone Show: Weekly episodes - every Wednesday - Weekly episodes tackling a wide range of subjects surrounding things that may impact or influence some or all of the LGBTQI+ community in Surrey.
GMDC Dance and Fitness Classes - everyday - Dance and fitness classes for the LGBTQI+ community and their allies. Voguing, Heels, Latin, Choir, Yoga, Street Dance and more.
Pride on Radio Woking - every Sunday - Radio Woking has given Pride in Surrey a platform to share the news about how diverse Surrey is and how inclusive it can be.
3 July Virtual speed dating event - Date in a Dash have joined forces with Pride in London to host a number of virtual dating events for the LGBTQI+ community.
12 July LGBTQI+ Elders Online Social Dance Club - Dust off your dancing shoes, charge your glasses and get ready for online dance club.
Pride Stars talent competition
Surrey Pride have also been the UK host for the Pride Stars talent competition an online-only talent contest giving talent the opportunity to get the exposure they deserve. Singers, dancers, acrobats or any other kind of talent are welcome to audition! Find out more on the Pride Stars website.
