Forces Connect signposting app

The Forces Connect mobile app is available to help signpost serving regular and reservist armed forces personnel, veterans, the wider armed forces community including spouses, partners, children and parents, to local sources of help and support.

The app is designed to link people to a wide array of organisations that offer assistance in just four clicks, and now includes a section specifically for Covid-19. No questions, no cost, no adverts. Although it was created for the armed forces community, it can be accessed by the whole community and can be a real helping hand by providing easy access to telephone numbers, email addresses and websites of key organisations that provide help locally. The app is free to download via Apple/Android with information updated monthly. Surrey is one of 17 regions nationally that supports the app and so if people have family members in other regions they are worried about they can find local help for them too.

The Forces Connect project aims to ensure that people in the armed forces or those who have served in the forces, who may find it harder to get to local and public services due to frequent moves, extended periods away from home and a lack of familiarity with what support is available to them, can easily find support.

The program is financially supported by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund, and is a cross border partnership with many other councils in the south east.
