Latest guidance to keep both staff and readers safe

Following the latest Government guidance, Surrey's libraries will reopen for browsing and PC use on Monday 7 December. Please check the Surrey Libraries web page before visiting. Addlestone Library will not be open until Tuesday 5 January 2021 as it is in a shared building that is going to be closed.

Libraries will continue to offer Ready Reads, the click-and-collect service and computers for essential use. See below for full details.

Public Computers still available

Libraries will continue to offer a limited number of public computers to support essential use for those who do not have the facilities at home, for example for benefit or job applications. Please contact your local library to book an appointment.

Click and Collect Service

Library members can browse the online catalogue to reserve their books free of charge and will be notified when the books are ready to be collected. Collections will be available from many of Surrey's libraries. A full list of libraries offering Click and Collect along with their opening times can be found on the Surrey Libraries Coronavirus page.

Ready Reads

To help those who are not quite sure what they would like to read, a 'Ready Reads' service was set up in July. After readers answer a few questions about the kind of books they enjoy, the Surrey Library team will put together a package of books or audiobooks that match these preferences.

eBooks, eAudiobooks, newspapers and magazines for free

Libraries will also continue to offer an extensive selection of digital services, providing access to over 30,000 eBooks, eAudiobooks, newspapers and magazines for free. These can be read online or downloaded using the RB Digital App and Press reader.

Online events

Surrey's library team has also developed an extensive online events programme with daily events and access to over 200 videos featuring rhyme times, storytimes, stem activities, crafts and much more. To watch their videos visit Surrey Libraries UK YouTube channel.

For further details about all of these services and local library information visit the main Surrey Libraries website.
