Shielding ends 1 April 2021
Published: 18 February 2021
What this means for you?
Anyone who has been advised to shield previously whether considered Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV) or more at risk from the effects of COVID-19 will no longer be required to do so from 1 April 2021. The amended Government guidance can be found here Shielding advice for the clinically extremely vulnerable to stop from April - GOV.UK
This means that some of the nationally provided support such as priority supermarket slots and free prescription delivery will no longer be in place. If you've already registered and got priority access to supermarket deliveries, you'll keep it up until 21 June 2021.
There is still support available locally if you are unable to get shopping or prescriptions. Rest assured there is always someone somewhere who can help you in Surrey. Visit the coronavirus I need help web pages for a list of support available locally.
We're all in this together
We're still all in this together, and let's make sure we all play our part and stop any spread of COVID so we can see lockdown restrictions lifted even further.
- Minimise travel and where possible, avoid travel at the busiest times and routes
- Remember Hands, Face, Space and Fresh Air
- Get tested for COVID - visit our coronavirus testing information and advice pages
