Chairman's thank you

Chairman councillor Tony Samuels says thank you
"On behalf of Surrey County Council, I would like to say 'thank you' to the many, many people who are going above and beyond during this exceptionally difficult time.
Our front-line workers – such as our teachers, carers, firefighters and social workers, have worked tirelessly alongside the NHS, police and other key workers to protect Surrey residents.
They have done this alongside a number of Surrey colleagues, who have ensured the continued running of our vital services whilst adapting to new working environments and systems. I particularly want to thank all the officers and partners involved in the Surrey Local Resilience Forum who have been working around the clock to keep Surrey residents safe."
Thanks to the volunteers
"I also want to recognise Surrey's army of volunteers, who are putting others before themselves and providing much needed support to many of our vulnerable residents. We always knew we had a strong voluntary sector here in Surrey but WOW hasn't the last few months proved it?
Thank you to all the Surrey charities who, despite losing vital revenue streams as a result of the pandemic, are showing fantastic creativity when it comes to fundraising so they can continue to support vulnerable people. There are clearly tough times ahead but together I know that we will continue to offer the very best support to Surrey residents.
There are of course many more people who are doing fantastic things to help throughout this time, ironically I'm proud to say there are too many to mention. But please know that your hard work and sacrifice is recognised and we are so, so grateful to each and every one of you.
From the bottom of my heart - thank you"
