A universal community safety referral procedure has been set up to help support the professional way that service organisations and agencies operate in partnership with each other. It also ensures that members of Surrey's communities are given every support available. Organisations and agencies are welcome to sign up to a Memorandum of Understanding that lays out the responsibilities of working in partnership and using this referral procedure.
This procedure would be adopted by professionals in an organisation, when carrying out a visit to a home in conjunction with normal work activities, if visual clues, or through verbal interaction with the client, indicate that they may benefit from being referred to another service or organisation.
The resources on this web page are intended for the use by those professionals within partner organisations and agencies who have signed up to the Memorandum of Understanding, a copy of which is available below.
Currently this includes:
- Surrey Fire and Rescue Service;
- Age UK Surrey;
- Surrey Pension Service.
Local authority partner organisations should complete and submit a Feedback form if they are interested in this agreement and want to discuss it further.
There are two universal forms used in the community referral procedure.
- A paper form, which is to be completed with the resident.
- An electronic form which is to be submitted by the referring service.
The latest version of the paper form is available to download below. Once the form has been completed, the electronic form must be completed and submitted which will automatically be sent to the appropriate service(s) for referral - electronic community safety referral form.
This web page is intended for use by professionals within the Fire Service and the Pension Service for multi-agency referrals. If a member of the public wants to refer themselves for a check please use the Home Fire Risk Check web page/online form.
