Your local on call firefighters at Chobham

The firefighters at Chobham provide personnel to crew one appliance, which is able to attend incidents in the locality and also other incidents throughout the county. They are fully trained firefighters who allocate their free time to respond to an emergency if they are paged, and they don't just fight fires. They deal with a wide range of emergencies such as road traffic collisions, chemical spills or rescues involving water.

They also work hard to educate and inform the community about the dangers of fire. This is an integral part of the job and on-call firefighters visit schools, youth clubs and other organisations offering advice to the local community on fire safety. To be considered as an on-call firefighter they must be at least 18 years of age. The job is physically demanding and a medical examination to assess fitness, eyesight and hearing is required.

The role of the firefighter involves a high level of commitment and personal discipline. They must be able to work as a member of a team and be willing to work hard in arduous conditions.
