Debbie, Denise and Kerry work closely with a wide range of organisations and services in Surrey to help them provide their families with good quality information. Their main aim is to ensure fair access to information and advice for families who might not know what support or local services are available to them or where to find help.
They work across Surrey, often attending team meetings to talk about the needs of families and how we might be able to help. In some situations where a family is finding it particularly difficult to find services such as appropriate childcare or parenting support, the Outreach Officer will work with them to find what they need (this is known as brokerage).
Some of the most common things they are asked to talk about are:
- How to find 'local' services
- Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including the Local Offer
- Financial support for families
- How to refer families directly to FIS
- Early Help
