As a result of the Childcare Act 2006, we have a duty to consult employers within Surrey to find out their views on childcare and how this affects them as an employer.
We carried out our first employers' survey in 2008 and consulted 822 employers. We found that employers would like:
- more flexible childcare made available, especially over summer holidays when childcare is not often available for the full working day
- more information about childcare aimed at employers and their workforce
- more affordable childcare, especially for those on a lower income and with more than one child.
You can download the full report below.
We carried out a similar survey in 2010, as part of our second full Childcare Sufficiency Assessment, and the results can be found on the Childcare sufficiency assessment 2010 web page.
