Surrey Prepared is a partnership between organisations across Surrey who are committed to helping individuals and communities grow stronger and more able to cope with an emergency. As a result of the feedback received from Surrey communities we have created resources on a variety of topics.
One example is the leaflet below which outlines the responsibilities of those who own a property next to a watercourse. This was put together by the Flooding Team at Surrey County Council to support residents who had approached them on the topic. They have also produced this short video demonstrating what work is needed to ensure a watercourse remains clear. This is one simple way that we can all help prevent the flooding that can cause so much misery to those affected.
Our website provides, free of charge, resources on other relevant topics. We would love you to take a look and use or share the information as appropriate. Further information about riparian responsibilities can be found on the page, Living next to a watercourse - your rights and responsibilities.
If there is a topic not covered which you think should be included, please do let us know via firstname.lastname@example.org or @SurreyPrepared. We would love to hear from you!
