Marriage and civil partnership fees

The total cost of your marriage or civil partnership ceremony is made up of the following fees:

You can pay for your ceremony online or over the telephone.

Please also see our ceremony terms and conditions, for costs and information relating to cancelling your booking or amending your booking.

We also offer a 14 day cooling off period, whereby you are entitled to cancel the booking without loss of prepayments (including the non-refundable booking fee of £100).


Registrar attendance fees

You must book a registrar for a ceremony at a register office or licensed venue . You can do this up to two years before your ceremony date, once you have booked your venue.

Registrar attendance fees are dependent on the date and location of your ceremony. The fees below include your £100 non-refundable booking fee.

1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018

Ceremony times are available between 10am and 3.45pm in our Register Office venues and between 10am and 5pm in other licensed venues.  For ceremony times and fees outside these hours please contact us directly.

Wednesday (am only): £46 excluding certificates

1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019

Ceremony times are available between 10am and 4.15pm in our Register Office venues and between 10am and 5pm in other licensed venues.  For ceremony times and fees outside these hours please contact us directly.

Certificate fees

Two certificates are included in your registrar fees. If you wish, you can order more copies at £4 each provided you order before the day of your ceremony (prices rise after the ceremony date).


Notice of marriage or civil partnership

You must give notice of marriage or civil partnership, as it is a legal requirement.

Notice of marriage or civil partnership fees are £35 for each person or if your notice of marriage or civil partnership is referred to the Home office £47 for each person.


Paying your fees

Fees are subject to change on the 1 April each year. You will be required to pay the fee that is applicable for the date of your ceremony.

Ceremonies booked after the 1 April 2016

From 1 April 2016, all ceremony fees will be payable in full at the time of booking. The ceremony fee includes a non-refundable booking fee of £100. If you move your booking to another office, your booking fee is also non-transferable.

Ceremonies booked before 1 April 2016

All balance of fees must be paid in full at least eight weeks before the ceremony date, please ensure you check the outstanding amount.

Pay for your ceremony


If you choose to pay online via Worldpay with your debit/credit card you will need your booking reference. This starts with the letters RD and can be found on the top left hand corner of your provisional booking letter. If you have only made a reservation with us and do not have a reference number, you will not be able to pay your balance fees online.

Alternatively, you can contact us during office hours to pay by debit/credit card over the telephone.
