Armed Forces Covenant - free e-Learning

Forces Connect South East has launched a brand new online course designed to enhance your understanding of the Armed Forces Community.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a commitment from the nation to ensure that members of the Armed Forces Community are treated fairly and not disadvantaged as a result of their military service. The vast majority of ex-servicemen and women living in Surrey today have successfully adapted to civilian life, using the skills and experience they acquired whilst serving in the armed forces. A few, however, can be in need of additional support.

Those working on the front line of services across Surrey play a key role in supporting our Armed Forces community, for example through recognising their transferrable skills and accessing employment opportunities, school admissions and transport, Adult Social Care and signposting to sources of support including Service Charities specific to their needs.

This course highlights some of the issues facing them, and how you can help support them. It also provides you with links to further sources of information and support.

The training can be accessed free at any time via the Ministry of Defence website.
