Last year Surrey Libraries in partnership with Hurtwood Press and The Bluehouse Festival ran a poetry and landscape photography competition called ‘Word in Focus’.
We had an overwhelming response to the competition with over 160 poetry submissions and 140 photography submissions. We had a difficult task in shortlisting the entries for inclusion in our ‘Words in Focus’ book.
‘Words in Focus’ is an anthology of poetry and landscape photography featuring Surrey, all of the submissions are from Surrey residents or Surrey library members and offer an amazing showcase of our talented community.
The Words in Focus book itself is a high quality, with hand sewn binding, showcase book which has been printed on the finest archival paper which means that it won’t discolour or fade for more than 500 years!
Throughout 2017 the book has been undertaking a tour around our main town libraries. We are pleased to announce that this tour has now been extended into 2018. Forthcoming dates and locations are listed below:
