What is Digital Friday?
Surrey Library Service has an ambition to host a 'makerspace': a place where people can meet to collaborate, create, learn, and innovate. It is a project that would help young people, small businesses, and the local creative economy, supporting the Council's goals of increasing wellbeing, supporting the Surrey economy, and improving residents' experience.
Digital Friday is a programme of events which will take place on the last Friday of the month, usually at Guildford library. The aim is to establish the library service's reputation as making interesting digital things happen, to make contacts within relevant local organisations, and to build a list of people willing to act either as steering group members or as volunteers for a possible makerspace.
If you would like to add your name to the list, please email: email@example.com.
Makerspace in Guildford library – help needed
Surrey Library Service has an ambition to host a Makerspace: a place where people can meet to collaborate, create, learn, and innovate. It is a project that would help young people, small businesses, and the local creative economy, supporting the Council's goals of increasing wellbeing, supporting the Surrey economy, and improving residents' experience. For further details about the project visit the Guildford Makerspace website.
We are hoping to offer access to 3d printing and other ‘making’ facilities within a dedicated space in Guildford library and it would be useful to know who would use it, what for and what other facilities of this type would be valuable.
Please can you help us by completing our Makerspace survey.
