Rhymetime

Introduce your baby to songs, rhymes and books at your library!

Library rhymetime sessions are aimed at babies and toddlers, aged under five, along with their parents and carers. The events are based entirely on sharing nursery rhymes, action songs and percussion music. It is fun, interactive and noisy!

Nursery rhymes are great for language development - they have a lot of rhythm which catch baby's attention, and repetition, which is good for speech development. It is also a nice way of introducing babies and toddlers to their local library!

Rhymetimes start with finger rhymes and action songs. Percussion instruments accompany the rhythmic songs and the sessions end with some closing songs, you can listen to this recording of a Rhymetime session, you'll need a program that plays mp3 files such as RealPlayer, iTunes or Windows Media Player.

Rhymetimes are free and generally last 30 minutes.

Sessions are held in many of Surrey's libraries

Please note some rhymetimes may be ticketed, operate a booking system, or have admittance restrictions.
