Please read this urgent statement about Surrey's library service including information about loans and renewals.
You can access our online library services: Free eBooks, eAudio, eMagazines, eComic and newspapers as well as other resources that can be accessed at home
Shut but still open
We have published a list of online services, activities and fun things for both children and adults to do whilst at home.
Chatterbooks reading groups encourage children to have a lot of fun with their reading. Children have an opportunity to talk about the books they have been reading, get new reading ideas and take part in fun activities inspired by the books, including crafts, quizzes and games.
Groups meet monthly in the library. Sessions last for 45 minutes to 1 hour, and it's free to join a group. Chatterbooks is for children aged 7–11 years, but check the details for each group to find the exact age range that each one caters for.
To get an idea of what our Chatterbooks groups get up to, take a look at our Chatterbooks Blog.
A range of online Chatterbooks resources to keep children entertained are available from the Reading Agency.
Chatterbooks reading groups are currently held in these libraries:
- Caterham Valley
If you are interested in your child joining a group, please contact the library directly to find out if there are vacancies.
If you would like to volunteer to help with one of our Chatterbooks groups, please look at our children's reading group assistant volunteer role.
