Who to contact about the Historic Environment Record

Coronavirus and office move: contacting the Surrey HER at the present time

The Surrey Historic Environment Record (HER) continues to operate and offer most of the usual search and enquiry services but team members are still working almost exclusively from home as a result of the current national guidelines in England regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please also note the HER office relocated from County Hall in Kingston to Quadrant Court, Woking in January 2021 so cannot receive postal correspondence sent to its former address given below. The preference is for all correspondence to be sent via email: her@surreycc.gov.uk. Please be aware that there will be delays in responding to postal correspondence as a result of limited staff presence in the office.

Requests for HER searches or information about Surrey's historic environment can also be submitted using our online form.
