Public Footpath No. 68 (Limpsfield)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 68 (Limpsfield) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020 was made by reason of danger to the public due to the crossing across the railway being damaged. The Order came into operation on 9 October 2020 and was due to expire on 30 November 2020. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 31 January 2021 or completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath No. 68 (Limpsfield) where it crosses the railway line (Grid ref. 540865 150549).

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route from the western end of the closure is to proceed in a westerly direction along Footpath 69 to its junction with Red Lane. Turn right onto Red Lane and proceed in a northerly direction to its junction with Footpath 67. Turn right onto Footpath 67 and proceed in a generally north easterly direction to its junction with Grants Lane. Tun right onto Grants Lane and proceed in a south easterly direction to its junction with Footpath 68. Turn right onto Footpath 68 and proceed in a westerly direction to the eastern end of the closure. The alternative route for traffic from the eastern end of the closure is the reverse of the route described above.
