The Surrey County Council
Public Footpath 535 (Capel)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) and (2)
On 3 March 2021 Surrey County Council made the above temporary closure order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the footpath shown as a solid red line between points A – B on the closure plan.
The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to works being carried out adjacent to the path. The closure is in operation from 9 March for 6 months or until completion of the works, if earlier. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements.
The alternative route from point A is to turn and walk south along the pavement adjacent to the A24 to the junction with Newdigate Road. Turn left and walk along the pavement adjacent to Newdigate Road to point B. The alternative route from the other direction is the reverse of the above.
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 535 (Capel) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021 was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
