Notice of confirmation of an Order

Public Footpath No. 494 (Burstow)
Public Path Diversion Order 2019

On 4 September 2019, Surrey County Council confirmed the above Order, made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A (2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert Public Footpath No. 494 (Burstow) from Point 'A' (Grid Ref 532308 142886) in a southerly direction for 68 metres to Point 'C' (Grid Ref 532323 142816), then in a westerly direction for 90 metres to Point 'B' (Grid Ref 532198 142775), as shown on Drawing No. 3/1/22/H34. The footpath to have a width of 2.5 metres.

A copy of the Order and the Order Map have been placed and may be seen free of charge by appointment (Tel. 0300 200 1003) at the Countryside Access Office, Surrey County Council, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford GU4 7BQ (Between 10.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday) and at Tandridge District Council, 8 Station Road East, Oxted, Surrey RH8 0BT and at Horley Library, Victoria Road, Horley, Surrey, RH6 7AG, during opening hours. A copy of the Order may be purchased from the County Council for £4.

The Order came into force on 11 September 2019, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highway Act 1980 as amended or on the ground that any requirement of the Act as amended or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order he or she may under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act within six weeks from 10 October 2019 make an application to the High Court.
