Public Footpath 349 and 351 (Ash)

Public Footpath Nos. 349 & 351 (Ash)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2019

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 349 and 351 (Ash) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2019 was made on the grounds public safety due to construction work. The Order came into operation on 27 June 2019 and was due to expire on 27 December 2019. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 27 December 2020 or completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of:

i) Public Footpath No. 349 (Ash) which extends from its junction with Footpath 351 (Ash) (Grid ref. 489064 149861) in a generally south easterly direction for 250m.

ii) Public Footpath No. 351 (Ash) which extends from its junction with Footpath 349 (Ash) (Grid ref. 489064 149861) in a generally north easterly direction to its junction with Footpath 350.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected by the temporary closure.

The alternative routes for the closures are:

i) Public Footpath No. 349: From the north western end of the closure proceed in a southerly direction along the permissive route indicated on site for 200m and then in an easterly direction for 163m to the south eastern end of the closure. The alternative route for traffic from the south eastern end of the closure is the reverse of the route described above.

ii) Public Footpath No. 351 (Ash): From the south western end of the closure proceed in a in a southerly direction along the permissive route indicated on site for 200m and then in an easterly direction for 163m to its junction with Footpath 349. Turn right onto Footpath 349 and proceed in a south easterly direction to its junction with BOAT 518. Turn left onto BOAT 518 and proceed in an easterly direction to its junction with Footpath 350. Turn left onto Footpath 350 and proceed in a north westerly direction to the north eastern end of the closure. The alternative route for traffic from the north eastern end of the closure is the reverse of the route described above.
