Public Footpath Nos. 21 & 22 (Walton & Weybridge)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath Nos. 21 & 22 (Walton & Weybridge) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020 was made by reason of danger to the public due to works to improve the path. The Order came into operation on 12 October 2020 and was due to expire on 11 April 2021. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 30 June 2021 or completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of:

  1. Footpath No. 21 (Walton & Weybridge) from its junction with Church Lane (Grid ref. 507211 164709) in a generally south easterly direction for 705m to its junction with Hangar Hill.
  2. Footpath No. 22 (Walton & Weybridge) from its junction with Springfield Meadows (Grid ref.507528 164656) in a south westerly direction for 240m to its junction with Weybridge Park.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative routes for the closures are:

  1. From the north western end of the closure proceed in a north westerly direction along Church Lane to its junction with Church Street. Turn right onto Church Street and proceed in a north easterly direction to its junction with Baker Street. Turn right onto Baker Street and proceed in an easterly direction to its junction with Monument Hill. Turn right onto Monument Hill and proceed in a south easterly direction to its junction with Queens Road. Continue along Queens Road in a south westerly direction to its junction with Hangar Hill. Continue along Hangar Hill in a south westerly direction to the south eastern end of the closure. The alternative route for traffic from the south eastern end of the closure is the reverse of the route described above.
  2. From the north eastern end of the closure proceed in a north easterly direction along Springfield Meadows to its junction with Baker Street. Turn left onto Baker Street and proceed in a westerly direction to its junction with Church Street. Turn left onto Church Street and proceed in a south westerly direction to its junction with Heath Road. Continue along Heath Road in a south easterly direction to its junction with Waverley Road. Turn left onto Waverley Road and proceed in a south easterly direction to its junction with Melrose Road. Turn left onto Melrose Road and proceed in a north easterly direction to its junction with Weybridge Park. Continue along Weybridge Park in a north easterly direction to the south western end of the closure.
