Public Bridleway 205 (Shere/Cranleigh) Temporary Closure Order 2022

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022

On 10 March 2022 Surrey County Council will make a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Bridleway 205 (Shere/Cranleigh) at Winterfold Forest, from the junction with Public Footpaths 223 and 225 (Grid ref. 506642 143188) in a northerly direction to the junction with Public Bridleway 205A.

The Order is necessary by reason of danger to the public due to works taking place on and next to the path related to filming. It will be in operation from 14 March 2022 for a period of 1 month or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route for cyclists and equestrians from the southern end of the closure will be: Proceed in a southerly direction along Public Bridleway 205 to the junction with Public Bridleway 224. Turn left onto Public Bridleway 224 and proceed in a north-westerly then northerly direction to the junction with Public Bridleway 205a. Turn right onto Public Bridleway 205a proceed in an easterly direction to reach the northern end of the closure. The alternative route for cyclists and equestrians from the northern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.

The alternative route for pedestrians from the southern end of the closure will be: Proceed in a north-westerly direction along Public Footpath 223 to the junction with Public Bridleway 224. Turn left onto Public Bridleway 224 and proceed in a northerly direction to the junction with Public Bridleway 205a. Turn right onto Public Bridleway 205a proceed in an easterly direction to reach the northern end of the closure. The alternative route for pedestrians from the northern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.

The 'Surrey County Council Public Bridleway 205 (Shere/Cranleigh) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022' will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
