The Surrey County Council Public Footpaths 23 and 39 (Walton and Weybridge) and 12 (Chertsey) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020

On 29 May 2020, Surrey County Council will make the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of Public Footpath 23 (Walton and Weybridge) which extends from point A [Grid Ref. 507047 163297], its junction with Seven Arches Road on the north-western side of the railway in a south-westerly direction for 300m past point B its junction with Public Footpath 39, for a further 14m to point C, then continuing as Public Footpath 12 (Chertsey) for 48m to point D [grid Ref. 506775 163076]; and in addition that length of Public Footpath 39 (Walton and Weybridge) from point B its junction with Public Footpath 23 (Walton and Weybridge) in a south-easterly then a north-easterly direction for 260m to point E [Grid Ref. 507001 163186] at Railton Close. Both are marked by solid pink lines on drawing 3/1/78/H34 attached below.

The Order is necessary in order to allow works to be undertaken on or near to the highway. The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 29 May 2020 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation on those routes where and when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

Alternative routes for traffic, where and when available, will be indicated on-site.

The Surrey County Council Public Footpaths 23 and 39 (Walton and Weybridge) and 12 (Chertsey) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020 will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
