Public Footpath No. 140 (Woking)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 140 (Woking) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020 was made by reason of danger to the public due works being carried out on the path. The Order came into operation on 3 July 2020 and was due to expire on 31 July 2020. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 31 August 2020 or completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 140 (Woking) from its junction with Old Woking Road (Grid ref. 502084 157449) for distance of 200m.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route from the south eastern end of the closure is to proceed in a southerly direction along Old Woking Road to its junction with Footpath 54. Turn right onto Footpath 54 and then continue along Rydens Way to its junction with Coniston Road. Turn right onto Coniston Road and then continue along Footpath 55 to its junction with the permissive route along the Hoe Stream. Turn right onto the permissive path and then continue along Footpath 40 to the north-western end of the closure. The alternative route for traffic from the north-western end of the closure is the reverse of the route described above.
