The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 94 (Byfleet) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2018 was made on the grounds of public safety due to drainage works to the adjacent wall and piers at The Manor House. The Order came into operation on 1 December 2018, was due to expire on 11 June 2019 and was then extended by the Secretary of State until 11 June 2020. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State until 11 June 2021 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The alternative route from the eastern end of the closure will be the reverse of the above. This route is shown as a solid blue line between points A –B on the closure plan.
