Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2019
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) and (2)

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 75 (Limpsfield) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2019 was made to protect public safety due to the unsafe condition of the parapets of the bridge. The Order came into force on 22 May 2019.

It was due to expire on 15 November 2019. It has been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 15 November 2020 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that section of Public Footpath 75 (Limpsfield) as it crosses the M25 on Whistlers Bridge. This is shown as a solid red line between points A – B on the closure plan.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements.

There is no alternative route.

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 75 (Limpsfield) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2019 was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
