Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 11 (Walton & Weybridge) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020 was made by reason of works on the path to replace the CLH pipeline. The Order came into operation on 9 March 2020 and was due to expire on 10 July 2020. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport for a second time until 30 April 2021 or completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Footpath No. 11 (Walton and Weybridge) between its junctions with Normanhurst Road, Walton-On-Thames (Grid ref 512028 166005) and Molesey Road.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route for traffic from the western end of the closure is to proceed in a north westerly direction along Normanhurst Road / Footpath 11 to its junction with Rydens Road. Turn right and proceed in a north easterly and then easterly direction along Rydons Road to its junction with Molesey Road. Turn right and proceed in a southerly direction along Molesey Road to its junction with Footpath 11.

The alternative route for traffic from the eastern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
