Public notice and plan relating to the temporary closure of Public Footpath 87 (Egham)

Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2021

On 16 September 2021, Surrey County Council will make the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Public Footpath 87 (Egham) between Station Road (Grid Ref: 501033, 171161) and Stoneylands Court.

The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to construction work taking place on or near the footpath. The closure will be in operation from 20 September 2021 until 7 February 2022 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route for traffic from the eastern end of the closure will be: Proceed in a northerly direction along Station Road to the junction with Church Road. Turn left onto Church Road and proceed in a north-westerly direction along Church Road to the junction with Grange Road. Turn left onto Grange Road and proceed in a westerly direction to the junction with Stoneylands Road. Turn left onto Stoneylands Road and proceed in a southerly direction to the junction with Stoneylands Court. Turn left onto Stoneylands Court and proceed in an easterly direction to reach the western end of the closure.

The alternative route for traffic from the western end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 87 (Egham) Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2021 will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
