Notice

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1)
The Surrey County Council
Public Byway Open to All Traffic 39 (Staines)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2019

The Surrey County Council Public Byway Open to All Traffic 39 (Staines) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2019 was made on the grounds of public safety due to Thames Water construction works taking place at the intake channel located of the River Thames at Laleham Reach.

The Order came into operation on 20 September 2019. It was due to expire on 2 March 2020, but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 12 June 2020, or until the completion of the remedial works if earlier.

The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Byway Open to All Traffic 39 (Staines)/Thames Side which extends from a point approximately 100 metres north-west of the junction with Beech Tree Lane, Laleham (Grid Ref: 504844, 169286) running in a north-westerly direction for approximately 90 metres.

The path closure will only be needed at specific times during the closure period, and these will generally be for short periods of time. When the path is closed, marshals will be in place at gates at either end of the closure.

The works will be taking place Monday to Friday between the hours 08.00 and 18.00, and any path closure will be during this time period. The path will remain open at weekends and bank holidays.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected by the temporary closure.

There is no suggested alternative route.
